Financial Controller

We are growing rapidly and are now looking for a Financial Controller to join our team. This person will be responsible not only for looking after our finances, but also supporting the businesses we work with. Key duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO and working with our appointed accountancy firm your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and further developing financial systems, controls and procedures for LCR Ventures Ltd and LYVA Labs
- Preparing and updating company budgets and forecasts
- Preparation of management accounts and managing key financial performance indicators
- Preparation of year-end accounts
- Managing and controlling working capital and cashflow
- Monitor and review of financial data, present ideas and make recommendations to the Board
- Managing banking
- Financial modelling for grant funding
- Managing eligibility and compliance for grants e.g. with Subsidy Control rules
- Managing outsourced payroll and administrative services
- Company secretary duties
- Preparing financial models, budgets and projections for potential investment companies (primarily early-stage start-ups) and inputting to investment proposals
- Input to the monitoring and reporting of progress for investments and grants provided to eligible companies.
Skills, personality and experience
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
- Minimum of 1 year post qualified experience working as an accountant
- Excellent knowledge of various accounting software packages including Xero
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
- Knowledge of Subsidy Control rules and experience of compliance
- Awareness of early-stage investment models (desirable)
- Awareness of company secretary responsibilities
- Works well under pressure and keen to take on greater responsibilities over time
Terms: Full time, permanent
Location: Liverpool City Region, we have offices based in Liverpool city centre and Daresbury
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 based on experience
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays
