Are you an established Liverpool City Region SME with a new and innovative product or technology idea that could help fuel the region's economy?

LYVA Labs is awarding grant funds to foster new R&D partnerships that support businesses in developing their products or services towards commercialisation.

What type of projects can we fund?

The fund is focused on supporting external expertise for Research and Development, so typical projects will:

Involve novelty and innovation

Introducing new ideas, methods or technologies to your organisation.
Include unknowns or uncertainties that need investigation, experimentation or validation.
May involve early-stage concepts or prototypes that need refinement or feasibility testing.

Have a research and discovery focus

Involve structured inquiry (e.g. scientific investigation, market research, user studies, technical exploration).
Aim to clarify or define an opportunity, challenge or hypothesis.

Involve creative problem solving

Require creative thinking to overcome technical, design or strategic challenges.
Often involve iterative development, prototyping or testing of multiple approaches.
May include collaboration across disciplines (e.g. design, engineering, data science) to generate innovative solutions.

Have potential for Impact

Have the potential to unlock new product or service opportunities.
May be the foundation for future development, commercialisation or strategic investment.
