We’re looking for experienced advisors, consultants, and sector specialists to support high-potential companies through our LCR Innovation Zone programmes including our Incubator, Accelerate, and R&D partnership services — delivering funded and part-funded innovation and growth support.
Work with ambitious innovators shaping the future of Health, Life Sciences, Clean Tech, and Deep Tech in Liverpool City Region
Through our funded programmes, LYVA Labs connects growing businesses with trusted consultants, advisors, and industry experts.
We help early stage companies and technologies access practical advice and support — from commercial strategy and IP management to product development, regulation, and investment readiness.
Our typical funding contribution per company is between £5k to £25k dependant on the programme supporting the cost. Some projects require a match contribution from the beneficiary. We are looking to support approximately 25 companies per year between 2025-2030.

How it works (3-step process)
1️⃣ Apply to join the Consultant Panel
Complete a short Expression of Interest form and tell us about your areas of expertise, rates, and relevant experience.
2️⃣ Get matched to funded opportunities
We’ll contact you when suitable projects arise, matching your skills to SMEs’ needs. Some opportunities are fully funded, others part-funded by the beneficiary.
3️⃣ Deliver high-impact projects
Once onboarded, you have the opportunity to work directly with innovative businesses under our Consultant Framework Agreement (CFA) — helping them move from idea to market.

Current live opportunities
Battery and EV Sector Specialist (ref:019)
A company developing electron microscopy technology is looking for an adviser with hands-on experience in the battery and EV sector. Someone who understands how materials are developed, tested, and manufactured at scale, and who can help the company identify the right entry points and the right people to talk to. This could be at the level of battery cell manufacturers, EV OEMs, or the tier-one suppliers in between. They are open to a consultant whose experience spans more than one part of that chain.
FDA Regulatory Advisor (ref:018)
A vaccine development company is seeking a regulatory advisor with experience of working with the FDA. The company is developing a pipeline of next-generation bacterial vaccines targeting three of the most urgent global health threats: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Strep), and Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Strep). They are seeking a regulatory advisor to support them and prepare them for Pre-IND meetings with the FDA and the subsequent regulatory pathway for their product.
Semiconductor Industry Specialist (ref:017)
An electron microscopy imaging company is seeking a semiconductor industry specialist to help them understand the landscape, identify the highest-value entry points, and build relationships that lead to commercial traction. We are seeking someone who has operated inside the semiconductor industry, understands how buying decisions are made, and can make relevant industry introductions.
Medical Device Regulatory Adviser (ref:016)
A medical device company developing automated ICSI product is seeking a regulatory adviser to support them in the process of securing Class 2b medical device certification and ISO13485. The company is currently conducting medical trials for the innovation and are seeking support to get to market.
NHS Procurement Framework Expert (ref:015)
A medical software company which has secured pilots with two NHS hospitals is seeking help in navigating the NHS procurement landscape to access more opportunities and move the company pilot to commercial deployment. The expert will help the company to identify the NHS procurement frameworks relevant to their software, including application cycles and eligibility criteria and provide hands-on support applying to any frameworks identified.
