Bomac Electric designs and manufactures heating elements and heating products. They are one of the UK’s leading companies in this sector and supply products worldwide, including to major global appliance manufacturers. The business has also continued to diversify their product offering into new sectors such as cooking oil management.

With a strong customer base in the waste cooking oil industry, Bomac Electric identified the need for an improved oil waste management sensor system to complement the high-quality storage equipment they already supplied to restaurants. LYVA Labs provided valuable feedback on Bomac's Innovate UK Launchpad funding application, helping them secure £96K for the project’s development.
Bomac has strong engineering expertise, including CAD and in-house testing, but needed support for electronics and software development. LYVA Labs, with its extensive knowledge of LCR’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem, introduced Bomac to DefProc Engineering, a specialist in electronics, sensors, and software development, making them a perfect partner for the project.
Additionally, LYVA Labs worked closely with Bomac in a full-day ‘Develop’ workshop, helping to define the project’s goals, build customer personas, and analyse market competition. This allowed Bomac to better understand their product’s positioning and market opportunities.
