Entropix is an enzyme development company that creates novel, high-performance enzymes and biocatalysts, used in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, and plastic recycling. The business uses AI to design new enzymes before manufacturing them in its laboratory. Enzyme production, used in more than 500 everyday consumer and industrial products, represents a $12b market opportunity.

The business was co-founded in 2021 by Dr Rob Rule and Professor David Hornby; the team secured an Innovate UK grant in 2023, which allowed it to expand its operations to a new facility at The Heath Business and Technical Park, in Runcorn.

Investment from LYVA Labs’ Health and Life Sciences Fund has allowed the team to scale and develop its activities, grow its science and research team, complete product trials, and secure patent protection.  Becoming part of LYVA Labs' Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Network has given Entropix access to potential customers and development partners for its new technology in a range of sectors.

LYVA Labs recently interviewed Entropix's CEO, Rob Rule, you can read the interview here.

"We were delighted to receive investment and support from LYVA Labs, which is testament to the progress we have made since our earlier investment from Deepbridge Capital. We have been developing our technology platform and a range of high-performance enzymes during this time. The company is ready to commercialise its own enzymes in the life science sector and has several opportunities in the pipeline to develop enzymes for a range of customers."
