Business Growth Manager - IGAP (Accelerator) (x2) - Closing Date: 07/04/25

We have recently been awarded a five-year Investment Zone project IGAP (Innovation, Growth, Accelerate and Partner) and are now looking for two Business Growth Managers to join our team. These are exciting new roles to support businesses close to commercialising new technologies (TRL6-9).

Key duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Programme Support:
    • Participant recruitment to IGAP
    • Account and relationship management of key client accounts
  • Business Development and Commercialisation Support:
    • Work with R&D intensive businesses to support their business development strategies, including customer acquisition, and revenue generation plans
  • Investor and Funding Readiness:
    • Scout and connect with potential investors and relevant grant opportunities alongside the LYVA Labs Investment Team
    • Assist clients in preparing for funding rounds, including pitch preparation, and investor targeting
    • Support clients with suitable grant applications
  • Partnership Development:
    • Facilitate introductions and collaborations between clients and commercial partners
    • Connect clients with industry experts, mentors, and advisors who can offer specialised insights and consultancy
    • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, corporate sponsors, and other stakeholders
  • Networking and Community Engagement:
    • Participate in networking events, workshops, and conferences to promote our service and create connections within the local ecosystem
    • Manage an active social media (LinkedIn) presence
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track the progress and success of the programme, providing regular reports to the COO, Programme & Reporting Manager, and other stakeholders.
  • Administration:
    • Administrative activities relating to your duties, including updating HubSpot CRM systems and dashboards.

Skills, personality, and experience

Essential

  • Strong commercial acumen with minimum of 5 years’ experience in R&D commercialisation and product development
  • Demonstrable experience of raising investment and/or grant funding for technology-led businesses
  • Bachelor's degree in business, enterprise, or a related scientific field.
  • Strong understanding of start-up ecosystems and the challenges faced by early-stage companies
  • Experience of working in or with high-growth businesses
  • Ability to influence and work with C-suite individuals towards agreed  business goals 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels with diverse teams
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Science background with good knowledge of one or more of these sub-sectors: physical science, materials science, data science, artificial intelligence, advanced engineering, advanced manufacturing, robotics, climate/net-zero technologies, health and life science.
  • Knowledge of the LCR innovation ecosystem.
  • Incubator/accelerator delivery experience.

Package

Terms:               Full time, 5 year fixed-term contract (we will consider other terms for exceptional candidates)

Location:           Hybrid - Liverpool City Region (50% based in our Liverpool city centre office)

Salary:               £50,000 - £60,000 dependant on experience

Programme & Reporting Manager - IGAP - Closing Date 07/04/25

We have recently been awarded a five-year Investment Zone project IGAP (Innovation, Growth, Accelerate and Partner) and are now looking for a Programme and Reporting Manager to join our team.

Key duties and responsibilities

This is a critical role that requires strong project/programme management expertise, the ability to coordinate across multiple workstreams, and a structured approach to performance tracking.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Programme Management
    • Ensure effective set-up and governance of IGAP in compliance with Grant Funding Agreement.
    • Implement and refine best-practice project management methodologies (e.g. MSP, PRINCE2).
    • Work closely with the Client Delivery Manager to maintain programme timelines, budgets, and work plans to ensure milestones are met.
    • Ensure effective resource allocation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
    • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and challenges, ensuring programme resilience.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all IGAP workstreams, providing regular reports to the COO, Programme & Reporting Manager, and other stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure programme outputs and impact.
    • Generate high-quality reports for senior leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
    • Ensure financial and operational performance aligns with agreed budgets and timelines.
    • Manage claims and funding drawdowns, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
    • Work with Client Delivery Manager and Ecosystem Analyst to develop dashboards for programme oversight and output tracking.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Coordination 
    • Work closely with the COO, programme leads, and delivery teams to ensure smooth collaboration.
    • Coordinate reporting and programme updates for LYVA Labs’ board and external funders.
    • Liaise with other IZ project leads, public and private partners, and LCR Combined Authority to align IGAP with broader LCR innovation strategies.
  •  Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
    • Introduce programme management best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and reduce administrative overhead.
    • Contribute to strategic planning to enhance IGAP’s impact over the 5-year funding period.
  • Administration
    • Administrative activities relating to your duties, including updating HubSpot CRM systems and dashboards.

Skills, personality, and experience

Essential

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in programme, project, or operations management.
  • Project/programme management qualifications (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) or demonstrable experience managing multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Familiarity with project management and reporting tools (e.g., Monday, Jira, MS Project, Trello, Power BI)
  • Strong experience in performance tracking, risk management, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage budgets, funding compliance, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
  • Experience working with grant-funded programmes and understanding of funding compliance and reporting.
  • Experience in business incubation, acceleration, or innovation ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of Liverpool City Region’s innovation and investment landscape.

Client Delivery Manager - IGAP (Incubator) - Closing Date: 07/04/25

We have recently been awarded a five-year Investment Zone project IGAP (Innovation, Growth, Accelerate and Partner) and are now looking for a Client Delivery Manager (Incubator) to join our team. 

We are seeking a Client Delivery Manager (Incubator) to lead our Incubator Programme, providing strategic support to early-stage founders as they develop their business models, validate their technology, and prepare for investment.

Reporting to the Chief Operational Officer this role requires strong commercial acumen, experience in start-up support, and the ability to guide R&D-driven businesses through their early growth stages. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality programme delivery, client engagement, and investment readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Incubator Programme Design and Delivery
    • Working closely with the COO and Head of Investment towards effective programme design and refinement
    • Lead the end-to-end management of the IGAP Incubator Programme, ensuring seamless delivery
    • Line management of two incubator delivery team members 
    • Oversee participant recruitment, onboarding, and programme structuring to maximise impact
    • Work with the wider team to plan and implement effective marketing campaigns to ensure strong participant pipeline
    • Provide account and relationship management for incubator participants, ensuring tailored support and progression
  • Business Development & Commercialisation Support to IGAP participants
    • Work with R&D-intensive businesses to develop effective business development strategies
    • Support start-ups in customer acquisition, market entry, and revenue generation planning
    • Run incubator workshops and present on relevant areas of specialism e.g. business model design
  • Investor & Funding Readiness
    • Assist clients in preparing for funding rounds, including pitch preparation and investor targeting
    • Work alongside the LYVA Labs Investment Team to scout and connect start-ups with potential investors and grant opportunities
  • Partnership Development & Ecosystem Engagement
    • Facilitate introductions and collaborations between clients and commercial partners, investors, and industry experts.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate supporters/sponsors, industry mentors, and key stakeholders.
  • Networking & Community Engagement
    • Represent LYVA Labs at events, workshops, and conferences, promoting our programmes and engaging with the innovation ecosystem.
    • Manage an active social media presence (LinkedIn) to enhance visibility and community engagement.
  • Performance Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
    • Track and evaluate programme success, providing regular reports to the COO, Programme & Reporting Manager, and stakeholders.
    • Support the Programme and Reporting Manager in managing claims and funding drawdown
    • Contribute to continuous programme improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance delivery efficiency and impact
  • Administrative & CRM Management
    • Maintain accurate records in HubSpot CRM and programme dashboards

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven incubator/accelerator delivery experience, supporting early-stage founders
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in R&D commercialisation and product development
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, enterprise, or a related scientific field
  • Deep understanding of start-up ecosystems and the challenges faced by early-stage companies
  • Experience working in or with high-growth, innovation-led businesses
  • Ability to influence and guide founders towards achieving business milestones

  • Experience supporting start-ups in deep tech, materials science, AI, robotics, climate/net-zero technologies, health & life sciences

Salary:               up to £60,000
